What is the difference between a peptide and a hormone?

Short answer
'Peptide' describes how the molecule is built: a short chain of amino acids. 'Hormone' describes what it does: travel through the blood and signal another organ. So some hormones are peptides, like insulin, and many peptides are not hormones at all because they act locally or sit outside the endocrine system.
