Is a degraded peptide the same thing as a contaminated one?

Short answer
No. Degradation means the molecule itself has broken down or changed with time, heat or moisture. Contamination means something is present that should not be: solvents, process materials, microorganisms or endotoxins. Different tests detect them, and a document may cover one and not the other.
